Our client, a publicly traded global asset manager with affiliated investment advisers, is seeking an attorney to join its Regulatory & International Legal team in a highly visible role reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory & International Legal.
\n \nThis is an exceptional opportunity for a corporate or regulatory attorney looking to leverage existing experience into a sophisticated international asset management practice. Prior international funds experience is not required; any international or cross border regulatory experience and/or international corporate governance/ housekeeping (from funds, M&A, capital markets, bankruptcy, etc.) will be considered. The client is seeking an attorney with strong judgment, transferable experience and the intellectual curiosity to develop expertise in investment advisory regulation, international products and global legal matters.
\n \nThe position provides legal support for the firm's international products and services, including UCITS funds, while advising on a broad range of cross-border regulatory, governance and corporate legal matters. The role partners closely with senior management, compliance, fund administration, business leaders and legal teams in Ireland, the UK, Japan and Hong Kong.
\n \nCandidates should have outstanding academic and professional credentials and approximately 4-10 years of relevant legal experience. Attorneys coming directly from leading law firms, as well as those with a combination of law firm and in-house experience, are encouraged to apply.
\n \nThe ideal candidate will have experience in some combination of:
\n• Investment Advisers Act or asset management regulatory matters
\n• Corporate governance and board support
\n• Corporate housekeeping and entity management
\n• Cross-border or international transactions or regulatory work
\n• General corporate or commercial matters involving financial institutions, investment advisers or asset managers
\n \nExperience with registered funds, mutual funds or UCITS is helpful but not required. The client is not seeking someone whose experience has been limited solely to fund formation. Rather, they are looking for a well-rounded corporate attorney who is excited to build a long-term practice focused on international asset management, investment advisory and global regulatory matters.
\n \nResponsibilities include advising on international products and distribution, supporting global regulatory initiatives, assisting with governance matters, reviewing offering and disclosure documents, and partnering with legal and business teams across multiple jurisdictions.
\n \nThis role reports to an outstanding manager who is committed to mentoring and developing talented attorneys. \n \nCompensation: $200,000-$250,000 base salary, plus discretionary annual bonus, restricted stock and a comprehensive benefits package.
