About the Job

The Junior Financial Analyst will play an important role in supporting the financial

operations of the Tanya Taylor business while gaining broad exposure to how a growing

fashion and consumer business operates.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to build a strong foundation in finance. The role will begin with hands-on responsibility for core financial processes, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and monthly close, while providing increasing exposure to financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning.

We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical, highly organized and excited to learn. This is a role with meaningful room to grow for the right person.

Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable
2. Review, code and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
3. Verify invoice accuracy and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
4. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies
5. Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding items

1. Accounts Receivable
2. Apply customer payments and maintain accurate customer account records
3. Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collection efforts
4. Research and resolve customer payment discrepancies
5. Prepare customer account reconciliations as needed
6. Support credit memo and deduction tracking processes

1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
2. Support the monthly close process and preparation of management reporting
3. Assist with account reconciliations and investigate variances
4. Help maintain accurate and timely financial information across the business
5. Develop an understanding of the company's accounting and reporting processes

1. Financial Planning & Analysis
2. Support quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and long-range planning
3. Prepare recurring and ad-hoc financial analyses for senior management
4. Analyze actual results versus budget and forecast and investigate key variances
5. Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for management
6. Develop an understanding of the key financial and operating drivers of the business

2. Support cross-functional finance and operational projects as needed
3. Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives

Qualifications

• Recent graduate in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field
• 0–1 years of experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial modeling is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
• Prior internship experience in finance, accounting, FP&A or a consumer business is a plus
• Experience or interest in retail, fashion, e-commerce or consumer products is a plus

Employment Type

• Reporting to: VP of Finance & Operations
• Work type: New York, NY (full-time and in-office)
• Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 per year, commensurate with experience
